Five defendants were sentenced by Logan County Common Pleas Court Judge Mark O'Connor earlier this week.
Josh Claybaugh, 23, of Urbana, was sentenced to ten months in prison for three counts of forgery.
Paul Cooper, 45, of Bellefontaine, was sentenced to thirty days in the Logan County Jail, placed on community control for five years, and ordered to pay a $250 fine, attorney fees, and court costs for theft.

Council members review an ordinance.
Bellefontaine City Council met on Tuesday night and citizen concerns topped discussions, along with three ordinances being adopted.
A special certificate was also given to a local group for their work to make the City of Bellefontaine a more beautiful place to live and visit. Prior to council going into their administration reports, councilman Jerry Pitzer presented Joann Ritter with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of works by the Rake and Hoe Garden Club. The club was honored for keeping the city beautiful, both downtown and in the city parks. (Audio interviews included.)

The Benjamin Logan Raiders had momentum on their side coming in to Dodd Stadium Tuesday night winning 7 out of their last 9 games of the regular season, but Bellefontaine quieted the Raiders early and took control with two goals at the end of the first half as the Chiefs beat Benjamin Logan 5-1 in the opening game of the Sectional Tournament on 1390 WBLL.

The NWCC announced its All-League Volleyball Team earlier this week.
Riverside's Brooxie Crouch was named Coach of the Year.
She helped guide the Pirates to a second place finish in the Northwest Central Conference. The team went 15-7 in the regular season.
Riverside standouts Taylor Leiss and Amelia Carter earned 1st-team honors.

The West Liberty-Salem 7th grade football team defeated Fairbanks 38-0 at Tiger Stadium last night.
Todd Pease ran for 90 yards and scored three touchdowns and a two-point conversion.
David Branham added 73 yards rushing and returned a punt 70 yards for a score.
Taylor Cordell added a touchdown run.
Branham led the defense with seven tackles and a sack.
