Campaign Chairperson Jamie Ross
The Mix on the Move was at Northeastern Elementary School on Saturday for the "Light a Little Star Campaign", benefiting the March of Dimes.
The event was held to raise awareness of premature births, and some of the difficulties that can arise. Consequences of premature birth can include blindness and mental retardation. One in eight babies are born prematurely. Many of the effects can last a lifetime.
Many activities and games were available to entertain visitors, as well as a raffle featuring prizes such as a gold bracelet from Smith's Jewelers and an Ipod. (Audio and video included.)
