Honda reports sluggish October sales Print E-mail

Despite a down month for most cars, the locally produced Acura TL did very well.
American Honda Motor Company posted October sales of 85,864, a decline of 28.0 percent based on the daily selling rate compared to record October 2007 results. American Honda year-to-date sales of 1,266,447 represent a 3.6 percent decrease.

Honda Division posted October sales of 75,756, a decline of 28.4 percent versus October 2007. The Fit achieved an October record of 6,478, up 28.1 percent in its second month available as a completely redesigned 2009 model.

The Acura Division posted sales of 10,108, a decrease of 24.5 percent compared to October 2007. Acura total car sales are up 2.0 percent.

Injury wreck in rural Logan County Print E-mail

state_patrol_cruiser_on_8-08.jpgA local driver suffered minor injuries after swerving to miss a deer on County Road 5 near West Liberty last night.

The Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol reports that Lyn Hemmelgarn, 72, of Bellefontaine, was driving a 2006 Dodge Ram southwest bound on CR 5 west of County Road 1 when he went off the road, rolled the truck onto its left side, and struck a pole just after eight o'clock.

West Liberty EMS transported Hemmelgarn to Mary Rutan Hospital.

His pickup suffered heavy damage.

Local YMCA swimmers shine again Print E-mail

ymca.jpgBuckeye Hilliker swimmers traveled this past weekend to the Great White North Invitational in Celina.

The younger swimmers really showed their talent among hundreds of swimmers from the surrounding area.

In the girls 8 and under division, Emily Fulmer finished 2nd in two events, and also had a 3rd and 5th place finish.

Amy Fulmer had a 12th place finish.

Macy Arn also had an impressive showing with 3rd, 8th, and 10th place finishes.

Local students ready to perform alongside Young Americans Print E-mail

Local students practice Monday afternoon.
More than two-hundred students from several local schools will showcase their talent tonight at Bellefontaine High School.

Since Sunday, the Young Americans have been working with local students on their singing and dancing.

You're encouraged to watch the students perform tonight in the BHS Auditorium.

Doors open at seven o'clock. (Video interview included.)

Young voters mixed on presidential race Print E-mail

Many local high school seniors are voting for the first time today.

Our Ian Beale visited with some of those young voters at Bellefontaine High School earlier this month.

The students shared their views on the much talked about presidential race.

Some supported Obama, others said McCain was their favorite, and some voters were having a hard time making a choice. (Video interviews included.)
