Laker sets League Record in CBC Prelims

indian_lake_logo.jpgThe Indian Lake Jr. High boys track team competed at the CBC Preliminaries Monday night.

Shylar McIntire took 1st in the pole vault with a league record of 11 feet.

Keith Harvey finished 2nd with a personal record of 8 feet 6 inches.

The CBC finals are Wednesday night at Tipp City.

 
Sheriff Henry announces lay-offs

sheriff_sign_10-06.jpgBudget woes have prompted several lay-offs at the Logan County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Mike Henry says eleven employees are being laid off.

Five full-time corrections officers and six part-time employees in a variety of departments will be laid off at the end of the month.

The affected employees were told Monday.

Ohio Hi-Point inducts 13 into National Technical Honor Society

nths_group.jpgOhio Hi-Point recently held their Spring Induction Ceremony to honor 13 students who were selected for induction into the school's chapter of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS).  Students, parents, faculty and staff gathered in the Hi-Point Sloan Inn on the OHP campus to witness the induction ceremony following a meal prepared by the Culinary Arts students.

Chiefs roll on Senior Night, Tigers achieve perfection

Bellefontaine used the long ball and dominant pitching to knock off Greenon.
Many area high school baseball and softball teams hit the diamond for regular season play last night.

As featured on 1390 WBLL, the Bellefontaine varsity baseball team steamrolled Greenon 10-0 in five innings.

It was Senior Night at Blue Jacket Park.

Before the game, seniors Grant Gleason, Tyler Kramer, Cody Mehl, Zach Horton, and Adam Wunderle were formally recognized. (Audio interview included.)

Youth softball season underway, busy night Down on the Farm

Butler Spouting edged Cuttin' Loose 6-5 in Senior League action.

Abby Brown was the winning pitcher.

Other Senior League finals:

Dairy Queen defeated Village Builders 9-3.

Carley Strzalka had a triple and scored two runs.
