3rd ANNUAL BLESSING OF THE BIKES (10:30AM)

Lewistown-Trinity United Methodist Church invites all motorcyclists to attend a worship service with the "biker" in mind.  Following the service there will be a blessing of the riders for a safe motoring season!

A continental breakfast will be served from 10:30 am to 11:25 am.

The service will begin at 11:30 am in the New Fellowship Hall with the "Blessing of the Bikes" to immediately follow.  Little "Bikers" are also welcomed.

This service will be held on Sunday, May 4th at 8088 Co. Rd. 54, Lewistown, Ohio -- Right off of SR 235 and off of SR 274.  Look for the bright blue Lewistown-Trinity UMC signs!

Mary Rutan Hospital is currently selling tickets for their Annual Pancake Breakfast.  Tickets are $6.00 each for adults and children 11 and over; they are $3.00 each for children 10 and under and can be purchased by contacting Pam McBrien at 937-592-4015 ext. 4599 or Kim Sanford at 937-592-4015 ext 4218.  Tickets for survivors are free.  The pancake breakfast is Saturday, June 21st, 2008 from 7:00 am until 7:00 am until 10:00 am at the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center.  There will be pancakes, sausage, coffee, and juice.  All proceeds benefit The American Cancer Society.

FREE Mammography Screenings Slated At The Ewing H. Crawfis Imaging Center For Those That Qualify..... (8:00AM)

Mary Rutan Hospital and the Ewing H. Crawfis Imaging Center have joined forces with the National Breast Cancer Foundation and National City Corporation to support efforts in Logan County to provide FREE mammograms and patient education to those in need.  Screenings will be held on Thursday, May 8th and Saturday, May 17th. 

 

For further information, interested individuals should contact the Ewing H. Crawfis Imaging Center at 937-592-1883 for qualification guidelines and to schedule an appointment.

Logan County is recognizing this "special" observance with a kickoff today, Monday, May 12th beginning at 2 pm on the courthouse lawn.  The Logan County Commissioners will read a proclamation , Jim Greer and the Mac-O-Chee Valley Folks will provide musical entertainment and Logan Acres will provide popcorn and bottled water.

We hope you can join us for this fun and meaningful activitiy.

The Great Car Push On High Street To Benefit Children's Hospital..... (All Day)

The Great Car Push on High Street, with a team of 6 strongman athletes who will push a car down High Street in Columbus 12 Miles to the Nationwide Children's Hospital, will be held at Noon, May 17th, 2008.  The event will feature the following 6 Strongmen:  Shawn Slemmons of North Lewisburg, Joe Stratton of columbus, Rick Freitag of Columbus, Brad Ardrey of Lancaster, Justin Richards of Columbus and Garrick Daft of Columbus.  The event will start at Jason's Restaurant and Bar, 6830 N. High Street, Worthington, Ohio. 

100% of all donations will benefit Nationwide Children's Hospital, Columbus.

Join them for the Great Car Push and help them raise $50,000 for Nationwide's Children's Hospital.  Donations will be accepted before the PUSH and during the PUSH on the course.

Parenting Classes Offer At Logan Baptist Church Beginning May 18th..... (2:00PM)

Logan Baptist Church is sponsoring Parenting Classes each Sunday at 2:00 pm beginning May 18th.  Pastor Bradfield is also a licensed professional counselor and he will be leading the discussions on such topics as "Building a Christian Family - Children are People, too - Do You Parent as You were Parented? - The angry Parent - You are Not Their Friend - Tough Questions Children Ask."  These sessions are open to church members and anyone in the Community.  The meetings will be located in the aparement Outreach Center at 160 Sidney Street in West Liberty.  Pre-register by leaving your name and phone number in a voicemail on the church phone 937-650-4522 or call the pastor directly on his cell phone at 937-620-2614.  The sessions will last an hour each week.

AMVETS POST 39 LAKEVIEW "MEMORIAL DAY PARADE"..... (10:00AM)

The AMVETS Post 39, Lakeview, Ohio is having a Memorial Day Parade on May 26th, 2008.  Line up will begin at 10 am.  The parade will start at 10:30 am at the Emil Davis Ball park on State Route 720 and will end at the AMVETS parking lot on Main Street in Lakeview.  A Memorial Ceremony will be held after the parade, in the AMVETS parking lot.

          The Mount Victory Community Development Association will be
hosting its annual Memorial Day Antique Car Show and Petroliana Swap Meet on
Monday, May 26, 2008, at the Mount Victory Village Park.  This non-profit
community celebration includes many activities including  a non-judged car
show and a large display of gas, oil and automotive memorabilia for show and
sale.  Admission is free.  At noon the William Britton VFW will have a
ceremony beside the park.  Great food will be served at the Sportsman
Building by The Mount Victory United Methodist Church..

This year's feature vehicle is a 1966 Chevelle SS owned by Don Houchin Jr.
of Bellefontaine, Ohio. The Chevelle SS was one of the first and probably
the most favorite Muscle car. The process of restoring this car was a total
frame off restoration that took almost three years to complete. Don has a
passion for cars that was instilled in him by his father, long time car show
promoter Don Houchin Sr.

              There is no entry fee for auto exhibitors and registration
begins at 10:00 a.m. The first 250 cars to register receive a button showing
the featured car.

          This year, weather permitting, a Vintage Plane Fly-In is planned
for the Plaza Inn air strip. Jack Cowen, vintage plane owner from Upper
Arlington is the spearhead of this new event.

The entire village participates with yard sales.  The Volunteer Firemen
will hold a chicken BBQ at Memorial Hall beginning at 12:00 noon.  The
antique and craft shops located throughout the village will be open.  Flea
market spaces are available downtown, for further information contact Janie

This year's feature vehicle is a 1966 Chevelle SS owned by Don Houchin Jr.
of Bellefontaine, Ohio. The Chevelle SS was one of the first and probably
the most favorite Muscle car. The process of restoring this car was a total
frame off restoration that took almost three years to complete. Don has a
passion for cars that was instilled in him by his father, long time car show
promoter Don Houchin Sr.

              There is no entry fee for auto exhibitors and registration
begins at 10:00 a.m. The first 250 cars to register receive a button showing
the featured car.

          This year, weather permitting, a Vintage Plane Fly-In is planned
for the Plaza Inn air strip. Jack Cowen, vintage plane owner from Upper
Arlington is the spearhead of this new event.

The entire village participates with yard sales.  The Volunteer Firemen
will hold a chicken BBQ at Memorial Hall beginning at 12:00 noon.  The
antique and craft shops located throughout the village will be open.  Flea

"LOOK GOOD...FEEL BETTER" Program To Be Held At The High Point Regional Cancer Center.... (1:00PM)
The American cancer Society Look Good...Feel better program for patients dealing with the appearance related side effects of cancer will be held on Tuesday, May 27, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.  at the High Point Regional Cancer Center, located at 2160 Ewing Crawfis Circle, Bellefontaine, Ohio.  Participants receive complimentary cosmetics and skin care products and learn how to cope with skin changer, appearance changes and hair loss from a trained professional.  The program is free but seating is limited so participants must register by calling toll free 1-888-227-6446

BEN LOGAN ANNUAL SPORTS PHYSICALS SCHEDULED..... (All Day)

The Benjamin Logan Athletic Boosters will be holding their Annual Sports Physicals on Wednesday, May 28th from 3 to 5 pm at the High School.  Walk-in Appointments will be accepted from 5 - 6:30 pm.  These physicals will be good for the 2008-09 school year.  Teh cost is $12.  Several area doctors have donated their time so all the proceeds benefit the Athletic Boosters.  All forms must be completed and signed by parent and student prior to the physical.

Community Days Craft Show on May 31st, 2008  to the already exciting Community Days

weekend.

Jackson Center Community Days is May 29, 2008 thru June 1, 2008. The

festival includes the 10
th Annual Community Days Car, Bike and Truck Show

The Community Days Car, Bike and Truck Show will be held on Saturday, May

31
st, 2008 with registration starting at 3 pm in the Airstream parking lot off of

State Route 274 in Jackson Center. DJ service will be provided by “Danny

Vestal” with Sound Design at the car show venue. The show is open to all years

of: Street Rods, Custom Classics, Corvettes, Muscle Cars, Pro Street, Special

Interest, Motorcycles (vintage and to date), with stock and custom trucks.

Registration is from 3 pm to 5 pm with an entry fee of $10. Awards is at 9 pm.
