MRDD Superintendent Dr. Mancuso
The Logan County Board of MRDD met in regular session on Thursday, November 20th. The staff presented the 2009 Action Plan and Goals to the board as part of the annual public forum. The board approved the 2009 Action Plan and Goals.
The Logan County Board of MRDD reviewed the information contained in the Thanks For Asking Survey, which was conducted this year by The Association for the Developmentally Disabled. This is the second year for this survey; it's been instrumental in planning the 2009 Action Plan. The Thanks For Asking Survey is a series of approximately forty-five questions asked during personal interviews between the reviewer and individuals and their families who receive services and supports from the Logan County Board of MRDD (RTC & Discovery Center). The questions focus on various aspects of the individual and family's quality of life.

Logan County State Wildlife Officer Kevin Russell
Ohio hunters took 116,798 white-tailed deer during the state's popular, weeklong deer-gun season, which ran December 1st through 7th, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. In 2007, hunters killed a preliminary total of 103,195 deer during the same time period.
Counties reporting the highest numbers of deer brought to Ohio check stations last week included Tuscarawas - 5,862; Harrison - 4,136; Coshocton -4,043; Guernsey - 4,017; Washington - 3,753; Licking - 3,597; Holmes - 3,138; Athens - 3,068; Knox - 3,067; and Jefferson - 2,840.

The West Liberty Village Council passed two resolutions at their Monday evening meeting, including resolution R12 approving a two-year contract for a solicitor extended to Chris Moell.
In addition, R13 was approved pledging $50,000 for the Town Hall Restoration Project to be used for maintenance and repair in Phase One.
After months of discussion with town hall committee members, Mayor Greg Hostetler and council members unanimously passed the resolution on the first hearing. (Audio interviews included.)

A rural DeGraff man involved in a two-vehicle wreck in Clark County Friday afternoon was found dead at his home Saturday morning.
The Logan County Sheriff's Office reports that Michael D. Evans, 45, of 3549 County Road 31 South, was found by family members around eight o'clock.
Evans was in a crash on State Route 235 near New Carlisle just before three o'clock Friday.
Evans took himself to Mary Rutan Hospital, where he was treated and released around six o'clock Friday night.
He spent Friday evening with family and friends. Everyone went to bed around eleven p.m. and Evans died sometime overnight.

Santa waves to many kids at the Logan County Hometown Christmas Parade Saturday afternoon.
Despite very cold weather, many local residents gathered in downtown Bellefontaine Saturday afternoon for the annual Logan County Hometown Christmas Parade.
Bellefontaine police officer Dennis McBrien drove the lead car.
He was followed by Citizens Federal Savings and Loan President Chuck Earick, who was riding in a horse-drawn sleigh.
Onlookers watched more than 50 entries proceed from the Logan County Fairgrounds to the downtown area. (Pictures and video highlights included.)
