WL-S continues to dominate cross-country scene, several local teams shine Print E-mail

cross_country_picture.jpgThe West Liberty-Salem varsity girls cross-country team finished 3rd in the small team race and 4th overall at the Anna Invitational on Saturday.  18 teams participated in the race.

The Big Orange was led by senior Hillary Seely who placed 12th out of 177.

Tigers Win Volley For A Cure Print E-mail

breast_cancer_ribbon.jpgWest Liberty-Salem hosted Triad Saturday morning in the Volley For the Cure which benefits the Susan G Komen for the Cure Foundation. Ohio high school volleyball programs across the country have been participating in this cause for two years. This is the first year West Liberty-Salem and Triad have participated in the event.

West Liberty-Salem won the OHC match 3 games to one 25-20, 25-18, 17-25 and 25-23. Paige Parker had 17 kills and 16 digs for the Tigers. Becka Peterson had 13 kills and 18 digs, Kayla Peterson 13 kills and 20 assists, Tessa Bailey had 23 assists  and Danielle King added ten assists. West Liberty continues to share top record in the OHC with Southeastern at 12-1. The Tigers are 17-3 overall. Triad fell to 11-9 overall and 8-5 in the OHC. (Audio interviews included.)

Chiefs Roll at Homecoming; Urbana Knocks Off Indian Lake Print E-mail

football.jpgThe Bellefontaine Chiefs rolled up the yardage on visiting Kenton Ridge on Friday to win Homecoming 42-13 on 1390 WBLL. Four different Chiefs scored on the night. Bellefontaine is now 3-4 on the season.  Check out other scores and highlights from Week 7... Lakers and Pirates spikers win league matches Print E-mail

The Indian Lake varsity defeated Greenon 25-14, 25-12, 25-12.

Devin Grandi and Sadie Oyer each had 14 kills.

Emily Watkins and Brianna Lump each had 2 stuff blocks.

Sara Tevis recorded 16 digs.

Tigers compete in volleyball, golf, football, and soccer Print E-mail

tiger_logo_on_10-07.jpgThe West Liberty-Salem varsity volleyball team moved to 11 and 1 in the OHC, 16 and 3 overall, after defeating Northeastern Thursday evening.

Paige Parker with 17 kills, 9 digs and 15 points with 4 aces helped the Lady Tigers win in three games 25-11, 25-17 and 25-20.
