Finals included:

Bellefontaine #3 AcuSport edged Zanesfield 4-3.

Jarrod Houchin stole home in the top of the seventh inning to lead AcuSport to the win.

Houchin pitched five strong innings and Joe Oliver tossed the final two innings. They combined for 11 strikeouts.

Finals included:

Bellefontaine Powerbuilt opened its season by blanking Urbana 10-0 in five innings at Blue Jacket Park.

Brock Mitchell picked up the win by scattering 5 hits.

Mitchell led the offense with a three-run homer.

Local travel team wins tournament PDF Print E-mail

baseballs.jpgThe Bellefontaine Red (Houchin's Auto Repair) 12 & under Weekend Travel Baseball Team played in the Delphos Tournament this past weekend.

Bellefontaine went 4-1 to win the tournament. They defeated the Delphos Braves 16-4, Ottawa 3-0, and then lost to St. Marys 5-2.

In the semifinals, Bellefontaine defeated the LCC T-Birds 9-2. In the championship game, Bellefontaine blanked the Delphos Reds 11-0.

Two West Liberty-Salem Baseball Seniors earn honors PDF Print E-mail

tiger_logo_on_10-07.jpgWest Liberty-Salem seniors Blake Wirick and Greyson Miller made first team on the All-Miami Valley Baseball Squad.

Shortstop Wirick hit a team high .423 with four home runs, three triples, fourteen doubles, and 37 RBI's.

Outfielder Miller hit .367 with three home runs, seven doubles, five triples, and 32 RBI's.

Athletes from Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake, West Liberty-Salem, and Riverside have qualified for state.

Several Lady Chiefs did well at the Division II regional meet.
