soccer_ball.jpgThe Neer's Sand & Gravel Crushers defeated Real Living 1-0 in 4th-5th grade boys soccer Thursday.

TJ Lamb scored the game-winner.

The Crushers went undefeated this season.

In a match that decided the NWCC title, Riverside lost a five-game thriller at Fairbanks.

The scores were 19-25, 25-23, 35-33, 27-29, 11-15.

Taylor Leiss had 16 points, 5 aces, 9 kills, and 2 blocks.

Amelia Carter recorded 12 points, 17 kills, and 14 blocks.

Christian Garlock hits a shot from the fairway in the Division I District Tournament Wednesday.
Bellefontaine standout Christian Garlock finished his season at the Division I District Golf Tournament Wednesday at Weatherwax in Middletown.

He got off to a slow start with a 47 on his first 9 holes, but fired a very impressive 37 on the back 9 for a final of 84. (Photo included.)

Oakley powers Indian Lake past Benjamin Logan in girls soccer Print E-mail

soccer_ball.jpgThe Indian Lake varsity girls soccer team closed their regular season with a 4-1 win against visiting Benjamin Logan last night.

Keeper Brittany Roby had 10 saves in the win.

Senior Ashley Oakley led the Laker attack with two goals.

Kerstin Harmon and Brooke Sheeley each added a goal.

For Benjamin Logan, Jordan Milsap had a goal to become the 2nd all-time scorer in school history.

Lakers, Raiders, and Chiefs Jr. High spikers earn wins Print E-mail

volleyball_file_photo_on_10-07.jpgSeveral local Jr. High volleyball teams hit the court last night.

The Indian Lake middle school teams defeated Mad River in straight games.

For the 8th grade Lakers, Claire Maier had 12 aces and 4 kills, Jessica Green added 2 kills, and Leslie Reichert was 16 for 18 serving.

For the 7th grade Lakers, Ashton Falor had 12 aces and 2 kills and Ivy Gilliam, Kylie Speicher, and Kirsten Merritt were perfect serving with 7 aces between them.

The Lakers will end their season on Saturday at the CBC tournament.
