Semi Accident Snags US 33 Print E-mail

sheriffs_patch.jpgA semi full of frozen food partially blocked US 33 just southeast of Russells Point for much of New Year's Day.

Logan County Sheriff's Officials report the jacknife happened around 8:54 Thursday morning on the highway between Roads 94 and 95 in Washington Township.

Officials say the semi was fully loaded with frozen food when the mishap occured. No one was injured.

(SNP file photo) Marching partners lead Ohio State School for the Blind band members through a precision drill during practice.
Bellefontaine resident Macy McClain and her co-members of the Ohio State School for the Blind Marching Band already know what they're doing New Years Day, 2010. They're marching in the 2010 Tournament of Roses Parade.

The band became a marching band in 2005 when the Ohio School for the Deaf revived its football program after a 30+ hiatus. There are currently 17 members in the band and about as many sighted marching assistants. They recently performed at an Ohio State University Skull Session in St. John Arena. 

The furthest the band has ever traveled before is Circleville.

Chiefs dominate Lakers on the lanes Print E-mail

bowling.jpgThe Bellefontaine Varsity boys bowling team beat Indian Lake 2436 to 2172 on Tuesday evening.

Jordan Vermillion led the way for the Chiefs with scores of 208 and 172 for a 380 series.

Ethan Lucas added a 188 and 181 for a 369 series.

Mark Salmons rolled a 173.

The Lady Chiefs beat the Lakers 2171 to 1914.
