State Senator Larry Mumper was this week's guest on Zell on the Bell.  Topics of discussion included ethanol, current bills in the Senate and the economy.  (audio interviews in story)

State Senator Larry Mumper made his monthly visit to Zell on the Bell Friday morning.  Among the many topics to come up was ethanol.  Senator Mumper is a big proponent of ethanol.  He is behind a current bill floating through the House that will help fund research in to burning ethanol in automobiles.  Hear Senator Mumper's comments about this by clicking play in the media patch below.

Another bill that Senator Mumper is introducing is a bill aimed at coaches conduct.  This is focused on volunteer coaches in the recreation programs around the state.  In Mumper's view he wants it to be mandated that a code of conduct be in place for each recreation department.  Too many times coaches get out of hand with winning at all costs says Mumper.  For the younger kids in the youth programs it is about learning and enjoying to play the game according to the Senator.  Hear Mumper discuss this by clicking on the media below.

Also Senator Mumper said it's been talked about around the House to help the Townships around Ohio to untie their hands when it comes to adult entertainment establishments.  Currently cities and villages have the ability to create ordinances these establishments must obey, however townships have no authority to do so.  Check out the Senator's comments below.

Plus the Conceal Carry law may have an ammendment.  Currently a list of every who is registered with a firearm may be obtained by media at the local sheriff's office.  Media outlets have published this list in the respective area's.  The new "wrinkle" in the law will allow the people registered to tell the sheriff's office not to release their name to the media.  The Senator likes this because right now he says criminals can scan the list and find those who are registered thus making them a target for break-ins because firearms can be very valuable.

You can hear Senator Mumper every month on Zell on the Bell on 1390 WBLL.
