City Engineer Tim Notestine sat down with Bill Tipple this past Sunday morning to discuss a major street project for Bellefontaine in 2006. (Audio interview in story)
What is happening with street projects in Bellefontaine? City Engineer Tim Notestine answered that question and more this Sunday morning on In-Sync on WPKO & WBLL. One of the projects that was completed over the winter was Possum Run on Park Street. Coming in 2006 on the books will be an ODOT (Ohio Department of Transportation) project and will be the replacement of Possum Run from East Auburn south down Main St. to just south of the Oasis Drive Thru. Bids begin in about a month and is all paid for by the state of Ohio. Hear Notestine give more details by clicking play in the media player below. {mosmedia} Other projects include the expansion of Guntown Road by the Super Wal-Mart. Tim is working on a paving plan and the widening of South Main St. from Pine Avenue to Steve Austin's Auto Group, but that project is not scheduled to take place until 2008. Another topic brought up is traffic congestion. Notestine says Main St. is primary source of traffic activity. He says the widening project will help that situation. Working on traffic light times is another way to help improve traffic flow. The traffic pattern is mostly north and south. Tim is the City of Bellefontaine Engineer. The engineer works on waste water collection, water distribution, roadways, drainage, zoning matters and works with devolpers who come in to the city making sure they are in conjunction with city codes. You can hear In-Sync Sunday mornings at 8:30 on WBLL and 8:45 on 98.3 WPKO. |
