Ohio State's overachieving season has come to an end. The seventh-seeded Georgetown Hoyas upset the second-seeded Buckeyes 70-52 in Dayton yesterday (Sunday) in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Four players did all the scoring for Georgetown. Roy Hibbert had 20 points, Jeff Green had 19, Ashanti Cook had 17, and Darrel Owens had 14. The seven-foot-two Hibbert also had 14 rebounds and three blocks. Big Ten player of the year Terence Dials finished with 19 points for Ohio State. Jamar Butler added 12 and Je'Kel Foster had eleven. The Buckeyes won the regular season Big Ten championship and took second place in the conference tournament despite not being a popular pre-season pick. They finish the season with a record of 26-6. |
