ohio_hi_point.jpgOhio Hi-Point Adult Education Spring/Summer Term registration in progress

Ohio Hi-Point Career Center Adult & Continuing Education has announced their Spring/Summer 2008 courses and are currently accepting registrations for the two terms.  The school provides both long- and short-term educational opportunities that range from their practical nursing program to programs in HVAC, manufacturing, business and industry, health information technologies, and short-term classes such as digital photography and a new public relations and marketing course.

"We once again are proud of our educational offerings for the upcoming term," said Darlene Chiles, adult and continuing education director.  "We have career development opportunities in the fields of nursing, health education, manufacturing and industry, while also offering short-term opportunities that can be fun and enhance someone's skill-set."

Highlights of the Spring/Summer Course Schedule include the new Paramedic Certificate Program, a partnership that has brought Clark State's program to Ohio Hi-Point's Bellefontaine Campus.  The program is part of OHP's expanding Public Safety Services program, which includes opportunities in fields such as firefighting and emergency medical technician.

Another highlight is a special course offering entitled "PR and Marketing for the Rest of Us," which will be a unique opportunity for those interested in learning about marketing, public relations, event planning, sponsorships, promotions and new technology in the field.  Shane Haggerty, communications coordinator at OHP, is teaching the course.

"This course is an opportunity for small business owners, those working in the area of non-profits or for anyone who thinks they need to enhance their communications and marketing skills," offered Haggerty.  "The course should be fun and will feature hands-on learning and special guest speakers from the industry."

The Nancy J. Knight School of Nursing is hosting open houses on April 1, May 5, and June 2 on the Bellefontaine Campus for those interested in learning more about a future career in nursing.  Other courses of interest include ABLE, which is offering orientation sessions once again and GED testing opportunities.  There are short-term computer classes available and special interest courses, such as golf for beginners, handmade bead jewelry, pet grooming, bicycle repair, cake decorating, carving, digital photography, and genealogy.
