Tigers Sweep Home Meet; Chiefs Do Well at Circleville PDF Print E-mail

tiger_logo_on_10-07.jpgThe West Liberty Salem Varsity Track and Field teams swept a quad meet Saturday morning while the Bellefontaine Chiefs boys and girls came in second at an eight team relay in Circleville. 

The Lady Tigers finished in first place with 137.5 points, Fairlawn was 2nd with 57 points, Springfield Catholic Central 3rd with 25 points, followed by Marion Catholic with 22.5 points.

The Tiger boys dominated with 166 points. Marion Catholic was 2nd with 30 points, Fairlawn 3rd with 27 points, and Springfield Catholic Central 4th with 18 points.

Multiple event winners for the West Liberty girls were Heather Bumbalough - 100 Hurdles and 300 Hurdles, Courtney Karg 400 and 200 meter dashes, and Christine Naderer 1600 and 800 meter runs.

 

Others placing 1st for the Lady Tigers was Hillary Seely in the 3200 meter run, Hannah Ropp in the pole vault, the 4x800 relay team of Naderer, Kelsie Markin, Seely and Karg, the 4x200 relay of Emily Evans, Hannah Hartsel, Lane Yoder and Michelle Mack and the 4x400 relay team of Bumbalough, Hartsel, Kaycee Daniels and Karg.

Multiple event winners for the Tiger boys were Daniel Wirick - 100 and 200 meter dashes, and Joe Yoder 110 meter hurdles and high jump.

 

Others placing 1st for West Liberty’s boys were Justus Murphy in the pole vault, Brandon Shiveley in the 1600 meter run, Eric Salley in the 400 meter dash, Lance Kitchen in the 300 meter hurdles, Seth Baker in the 800 meter run, Matt Vogel in the 3200 meter run, the 4x800 relay team of Salley, Lenny Achmus (ack-mus), Shiveley and Baker, the 4x200 relay team of Wirick, Brice Baumgardner, Baker and Eric Zirkle, the 4x100 relay team of Wirick Baumgardner, Kitchen and Jake Anderson and the 4x400 relay team of Anderson, Salley, Yoder and Kitchen.

WLS is back in action Tuesday at Graham.

In Circleville Bellefontaine was part of an eight team relay meet and here are the results:
