The Lady Lakers pounded out 13 hits, winning the first game 10-0 in 6 innings.
Jill Wildermuth was outstanding on the mound, pitching a NO-Hitter, striking out 9 and walking none. The defense also did a great job behind her. Wildermuth helped herself at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a Triple and 2 RBIs. Also having big games at the plate were Michelle Herren (4 for 4 with 2 doubles), Jessica Linginer (3 for 3 with a double and 2 RBIs), Chelsea Cramer (2 for 2 with a double and 2 RBIs), and Kerstin Harmon (Triple and 3 RBIs).
Indian Lake's bats stayed hot in game 2, racking up 13 more hits on their way to a 14-1 victory in 5 innings.
Kerstin Harmon picked up the win in her first varsity start, giving up just 1 run on 5 hits while striking out 4 and walking 3. The defense did another great job, especially Becca Cooper, who made 2 diving catches to end the game.
Harmon supported herself at the plate (2 for 3 with 3 RBIs), and received additional support from Michelle Herren (3 for 4 with a Triple and an RBI), Chelsea Cramer (3 for 4 with a Triple and 3 RBIs), Julianne Minnich (2 for 3 with a Double and 2 RBIs), Chelsey Hoyles (Double and 2 RBIs), Becca Cooper (Double and an RBI to go with her two great catches), and Jill Wildermuth (Double).
The Lady Lakers are now 3-1 for the season. Their next game is at home against Northwestern.
The Ben Logan freshman baseball team swept county rival Bellefontaine on Saturday.
The Raiders won the first game 6-3, and the second 15-5 in 6 innings.
Matt Sierra picked up the win in game 1. Alex Young had three hits in support.
In game 2, Sierra had four hits to help Artie Zell get the win. Quinn Stover added two hits. |
