| Tigers sweep quad meet, Raiders win tri-meet |

The West Liberty-Salem boys and girls jr. high track teams posted wins at a quad meet in Mechanicsburg on Monday evening. Multiple event winners for the Lady Tigers were Alexis Smith in the 100 Hurdles and the high jump, Alyssa Neff in the 100 and 200 meter dashes, and Meghan Vogel in the 1600 and 800 meter runs. All three relay teams for WLS also placed first.
The Tigers boys team multiple event winners were Zach Konkle in the 100 and 200 meter hurdles and Ryan Meister in the 1600 and 800 meter runs. All three Tiger relay teams placed first. The Benjamin Logan High School Boys track team finished 2nd overall and won the Division II class last Saturday at the 16-team London Relays. Finishing 1st were the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 relay teams of George Daniel, Cody Titus, Cory Phalen, and Steven Campbell. 2nd place finishers were the Pole Vault tandem of Logan Reames and Luke Smith, Sprint Medley team of Daniel, Titus, Aaron Blakely, and Reames and the Middle Distance Medley team of Phalen, Campbell, Tyler Codora, and Ross Barnes. 3rd Place finishes included the High Jump team of Barnes and Steven Watson and the 4 x 400 relay team of Campbell, Reames, Codora, and Barnes. The Raiders will be in action again on Friday at the Miami East Invitational.
The BMS boys track team placed second at a triangular meet at Indian Lake last night.
Placers for BMS were:
2nd place: Peyton Kesler in the 800m with a time of 2:22.43
3rd place: Curtis Dossman in the 200m hurdles at 31.4
4th place: John Maurice in the 200m hurdles at 32.18
The Benjamin Logan Junior High boys team won the meet with 57 points.
Winning events for the Raiders were Patrick Graber in the 110 hurdles with a time of 20.43, Quint Terry in the 100 dash with a time of 12.89, Eric Olson in the high jump with a height of 5'2", and the 4x100 relay consisting of Max Erwin, Matt Wilt, Dustin Bowers, and Ed Kenoyer.
Placing for the team were Brian Newland and Casey Greavu in the 110 hurdles, Landon Brown in the 100, Caleb Titus in the 400, Eric Olson in the 800, Dylan McGarry and Brian Newland in the pole vault, Dylan McGarry and Casey Greavu in the high jump, Quint Terry and Max Erwin in the long jump, Landon Johnson and Dustin Bowers in the shot, Austin Ramge in the discus, and the 4x200 meter relay team of Max Erwin, Matt Wilt, Terran Cozad, and Ed Kenoyer. Several Laker boys excelled at the meet. Placers included:
Shylar McIntire, 1st in the 400 meter run, 800meter run, and pole vault.
Tanner Hinkle, 1st in the 200 hurdles and the long jump.
Dylan Bundy, 1st in the shot put and discus.
Sammy Ramos 2nd in the 200 hurdles and 200 meter dash.
Keith Harvey, 2nd in the Pole Vault.
Austin Nance, 4th in the 110 hurdles and the long jump.
Bellefontaine won the Junior High girls meet with 61 points, Indian Lake took 2nd with 53.5 points, and Benjamin Logan was 3rd with 44.5 points. Scoring for Benjamin Logan were:

And the 4x400m relay team of Logan Dunn, Kirston Milton, Ciarra Wirick and Courtney Forsythe finished 1st. Several Lady Lakers did well, including:
Erika Kysenceder: 2nd in 100 meter hurdles (20.8)
Ashley Albright: 1st in high jump (4'4"), 2nd in 1600 meter run (6:29), 2nd in 800 meter run (2:56)
Kayla Beltz: 3rd in 1600 meter run (6:36) and 4th in 800 meter run (3:01)
Jessica Green: 2nd in 400 meter dash (1:10) and 2nd in 200 meter dash (31.1)
Ashley Collins: 1st in pole vault (6'6") and 1st in long jump (12' 10 ½") and 3rd in 400 meter dash (1:12)
Trista Helmlinger: 3rd in long jump (11'7")
Taylor Huffman: 2nd in shot put (22'4") and 4th in discus (55')
The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Megan Thomas, Erika Kysenceder, Katie Ray, and Jessica Green placed 2nd with a time of 59.7. The 4 x 200 meter relay team of Megan Thomas, Jaime Shouse, Trista Helmlinger, and Ellie Schwieterman finished 1st with a time of 2:09. |
