With the April 15th tax filing deadline quickly approaching, the Internal Revenue Service reminds Ohio taxpayers that free tax help is available through extended hours at various IRS offices in Ohio. As part of this outreach, the IRS will be assisting retirees, disabled veterans, and other taxpayers to file a return solely to receive the economic stimulus payment. On Saturday April 12th, nearly 300 Taxpayer Assistance Centers nationwide will have special hours from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help people file a tax return to claim their stimulus payment and to help those taxpayers filing regular returns. Local IRS walk in sites that are open Saturday, April 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. include: Columbus, 200 North High Street (Open 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.) Dayton, 200 West Second Street Lima, 401 West North Street All IRS Taxpayer centers are open for regular hours Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Locations are listed at IRS.gov.
