Tigers sweep junior high track meet Print E-mail

tiger_logo_on_10-07.jpgThe West Liberty-Salem boys and girls jr. high track and field teams both placed first at a quad meet in South Charleston Thursday night, beating host Miamiview, Cedarville, and Springfield Catholic Central.

The Lady Tigers were led by first place finishes from Alyssa Neff in the 100 meter and 200 meter dashes and Meghan Vogel in the 1600 and 800 meter runs. Also placing first were Andrea Markin in the 100 meter hurdles and Alexis Smith in the 200 meter hurdles. All three relay teams also placed first.

On the boys side, the Tigers were paced by first place finishes by Ryan Meister in the 1600 and 800 meter runs and Zach Konkle in the 110 and 200 meter hurdles. Also placing first for the Tigers were Micahel Yoder in the 400 meter dash, David Delaney in the shot put, and the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams.

The WLS jr. high teams host the Champaign County Meet on Tuesday.
