There was a serious injury crash on the city's northside yesterday afternoon.

The Bellefontaine Police Department and Bellefontaine Fire and EMS responded to a one-vehicle wreck on Route 68 shortly after one o'clock.

A northbound cargo truck went off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole near Northview Drive, which is near the Comfort Inn.

The passenger suffered serious injuries. He was flown to OSU Medical Center in Columbus.

The driver was not injured.

Police have not released their names and the accident remains under investigation.
