Many of our local teams hit the diamond last night.

As featured on 1390 WBLL, the Bellefontaine varsity softball team edged Benjamin Logan 3-1 at Blue Jacket Park.

The game was dominated by pitching.

Chieftain sophomore ace Kara Morrison tossed a complete game three-hitter and recorded five strikeouts. (Audio interviews included.)

Raiders ace Brittanie Williams fired a four-hitter.

Bellefontaine scored two runs in the second inning and added an insurance run in the fifth inning.

Benjamin Logan scored their run in the fourth inning.

Tiffany LeVan powered the Chiefs attack with a double.

Benjamin Logan junior Brenda Miller also had a double.

Bellefontaine is 7-3 overall and 4-2 in the CBC.

Benjamin Logan is 2-9, 0-6.

The Chiefs travel to Wapakoneta for a doubleheader tomorrow and the Raiders head to River Valley for a doubleheader tomorrow.

The Indian Lake varsity softball team beat host Dayton Stebbins 2-0.

Junior Jill Wildermuth fired a one-hitter to post another win.

Michelle Herren, Jessica Lininger, Alain Pummell, Chelsey Hoyles, Becca Cooper, and Wildermuth all had hits.

Chelsea Cramer and Cooper each had an RBI.

The Lakers are 8-2 overall and 5-1 in the CBC.

Coach Cramer's squad will host Kenton in a doubleheader tomorrow at noon.

The Riverside varsity team edged Lima Perry 2-1.

Sara Schindewolf had a two-out double in the bottom of the seventh inning to score Ashley Jones with the winning run.

Jones singled to lead off the inning. She was sacrificed to second by Erica Snapp.

Abby Heaberlin added a triple.

Sara Emerich tossed a complete game four-hitter and had seven strikeouts.

The Pirates are 4-3 overall and 3-0 in the NWCC.

Fairbanks handled Waynesfield-Goshen 10-0 in five innings.

The Benjamin Logan JV softball team defeated Bellefontaine 12-0 in five innings.

Lauren Bycynski pitched a one-hitter.

Dakota Plikerd had two hits and two RBI's to lead the Raiders attack.

Benjamin Logan will host River Valley tomorrow in a doubleheader.

The Raiders are 8-1, 6-0.

In 8th grade fastpitch, Indian Lake beat Lima Perry 5-1.

Maci Jones tossed a three-hitter and struck out six.

Kayla Thieman went three for three.

Allison Allen had a double.

Ashton Kindle and Gabby Hoying added singles.

In varsity baseball, Bellefontaine beat rival Benjamin Logan 5-3 at Blue Jacket.

The Chiefs withstood a furious rally by the Raiders.

Starting pitcher Zach Mosbarger took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, but Benjamin Logan plated three runs and had the bases loaded with no outs.

Bellefontaine reliever Nolan Hunt earned the save by striking out a batter and then getting a 1-2-3 double play ball.

Mosbarger earned the win.

The Raiders hurt themselves with five errors.

Bellefontaine is 6-2 overall and 4-2 in the CBC.

Benjamin Logan is 6-4 overall.

In JV baseball, Benjamin Logan edged Bellefontaine 5-4.

Colt Scherer suffered the loss.

Scherer had a home run and teammate Greg Huffman had two hits.

In 8th grade baseball, Indian Lake rallied to beat St. Marys 13-9.

The Lakers collected 16 hits.

Travis Francis led the way with four hits, including a home run and two doubles.

Ben Frey went three for three.
