Jamie Patrick, a junior at Bellefontaine High School, has been selected for the prestigious 2008 Martin W. Essex School for the Gifted.

The Essex School, now in its third decade, is a summer residential program comprised of workshops, activities, and extended projects that allow for intellectual investigation of a broad spectrum of subject areas and social issues. Students reside on the campus of The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

Each high school in Ohio is permitted to nominate one gifted student for this program.

The rigorous application process includes two student essays and two teacher recommendations. Only 70 students are chosen to attend this enrichment opportunity.
