Pirates softball comes up short, WLS wins again PDF Print E-mail

In varsity softball, Riverside lost to host Houston 6-4 in non-league action.

Sarah Schindewolf led the Pirates with two hits.

Lindsey Stevens had a double and two RBI's.

Sara Emerich added a double.

Houston scored four runs in the fourth inning to take the lead.

The Pirates are 4-4 overall, but 3-0 in the NWCC.

West Liberty-Salem blanked Springfield Catholic 10-0.

Senior ace Emily Kauffman fired a two-hitter and struck out seven.

The Tigers had twelve hits.

Shortstop Abbey Ledford led the offense with three hits.

Haleigh Hickenbottom, Katie Detwiler, and Shae Blake each added two hits.

WLS is 14-0 overall and 8-0 in the OHC. 

In varsity baseball, Anna outscored Indian Lake 10-8.

Coach Tidwell's team hurt themselves with seven errors.

Lakers standout Michael Morgan had two home runs.

Indian Lake is 6-3 overall.

West Liberty-Salem ran past Springfield Catholic 15-5.

The Tigers scored nine runs in the fourth inning to take control.

Josh Wintersteller earned the win.

Blake Wirick paced the Tigers offense with three hits, including a home run, a double, and three RBI's.

West Liberty-Salem is 11-2, 8-0.
