The Ohio Hi-Point Joint Vocational School District held their Board of Education meeting Wednesday evening at the Hi-Point Inn.

The Board recognized April and May students of the Month.

Benjamin Tyler, Architectural & Mechanical Design II, Riverside High School, and Nautica Carter, Early Childhood Education II, Bellefontaine High School were honored for the Month of April. (Video interview included.)

Steven Wirth in the Architectural and Mechanical Design II Program from Graham High School and Breanne Gamble in the Administrative Office Specialist Program from Marysville High School, were the May recipients honored.

Nila Marquard gave the High School Update including the following events:

NTHS Induction and Lunch May 2nd

Top 15 Honored Educator Banquet, May 8th

OHP Award Night, May 15th

Spring Field Day and OHP Student Relay for Life Walk, May 16th

Senior Breakfast, May 28th

Convocation, May 28th

GED Graduation, June 5th

Deb Wortman gave a satellite update about the Construction Technology Program.

Watch Wortman describe how Hi-Point students are going to help several disabled residents in Union County.

The board approved the March financial statement and the acceptance of the audit report approved by the State of Ohio.

Resignations were accepted from Barbara Culp, Bellefontaine, Nikki Smith, Russells Point, and H. Patricia Roby, Bellefontaine.

Roby is retiring at the end of the school year. She helped open the school in September 1974 and will now serve on the newly formed OHP Alumni and Friends Board.

Chancellor Fingerhut's plan, "Strategic Plan For Higher Education," was also discussed.

The board approved the non-renewal of certified staff along with supplemental contracts of several employees.

The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28th right after Convocation.
