Konkle, Meister, and Vogel help Tigers sweep quad meet PDF Print E-mail

tiger_logo_on_10-07.jpgWest Liberty-Salem's boys and girls jr. high track and field teams brought home victories in a quad meet at Northeastern Thursday night against league foes South Vienna, Cedarville, and Greeneview.

Zach Konkle and Ryan Meister led the Tigers with two individual first place finishes. Konkle won the 110 and 200 meter hurdles and Meister won the 1600 and 800 meter runs.

Also placing first for the Tigers were Cameron Ward in the pole vault, the 4x100 meter relay team of Michael Yoder, Greg White, Michael Mack, and Konkle and the 4x400 relay team of J.J. Birt, Ward, Meister, and Yoder.

Meghan Vogel paced the Lady Tigers with first place finishes in the 400 meter dash and the 800 meter run. Other first place finishes included Alexis Smith in the 100 meter hurdles, Jasmine Smith in the 1600 meter run, Melany Ward in the 200 meter hurdles, Janelle VanHorn in the high jump, the 4x200 relay team of Ward, Brenna Hayes, Alandra Cox, and Maria Daulton and the 4x400 relay team of Alexis Smith, Addy Hartsel, VanHorn, and Vogel.

West Liberty-Salem's varsity track and field teams host the BOSS Invitational tonight sponsored by the Big Orange Shoe Shop. Competing teams include Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake, Graham, London, Greeneview and Mt. Gilead Christian. Field events start at 4:45 p.m. and running events will get underway at 5:30.

The Jr. High BOSS Invitational is Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m. with host WLS, Anna, Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan, Bethel, Indian Lake, Mechanicsburg, and Triad.
