benjamin_logan_raider_logo_on_12-07.jpgBenjamin Logan High School will be participating in the "Days of Remembrance", which commemorates the victims of the Holocaust by promoting the end of prejudice and inhumanity through education, vigilance, and tolerance, during the week of April 27th to May 2nd.

During this week high school students will remember those who were lost and learn to live lives conscious of our effort on others through information and research about this time in history; understanding this tragedy's relevance in our time; and engaging in political action for the betterment of humanity.

The high school is also sponsoring a trip to Europe this summer where students will have the opportunity to experience the places they have learned about in their history classes. The students whose commemoration is chosen will enjoy this trip of a lifetime.

The district is attempting to raise $9000 ($3000 per student) to send the three students on this trip to further their educational experience by allowing them to put a piece of history into their own life experience.

If you are interested in considering a financial donation to Benjamin Logan Local Schools on behalf of this project, please call high school instructors Trish Hemmelgarn of Genny Algire at 592-1666 for details.

Checks can be made out to Benjamin Logan Local Schools and sent to 4740 County Road 26, Bellefontaine, to the attention of Emmy Davis-Smith, Curriculum Director. Please include "Europe Trip" on the check.

The public is welcome to come to the high school the week of April 27th to participate in the commemoration.
