Laker senior Michael Morgan hit two doubles and a triple to lead Indian Lake to a 7-6 win over Bellefontaine Friday night at Dayton’s Fifth Third Field. (Audio interviews included.) Bellefontaine (8-3), was considered the visiting team and posted three runs in the top of the first inning with the help of two throwing miscues. Indian Lake (9-4) evened it up in the third inning when Morgan tripled, DJ Postle reached on an error and Cody Van Horn singled. All three would score. Nick Bozman also walked and scored in the inning to give the Lakers a 4-3 advantage. Bellefontaine would regain the lead 5-4 in the top of the fourth when Brock Mitchell and Mark Duffy would get on base and eventually score off an error and a sacrifice. Indian Lake countered in the bottom part of the inning when Draper walked and Morgan doubled. Both would score on a Bellefontaine error. After four innings, the Lakers led 6-4. Indian Lake would add another run in the fifth when Nick Bozman doubled and scored on an rbi single from Matt Yanchick. Morgan would pitch the seventh to preserve the win.
