Kerns powers Raiders, Lady Lakers win in the seventh Print E-mail

baseballs.jpgSeveral local baseball and softball teams hit the diamond last night.

The Bellefontaine varsity baseball team lost 4-3 at Springfield Shawnee.

The Chiefs and Braves split the season series.

BHS is 10-5 overall and 7-4 in the CBC.

Benjamin Logan defeated host Greenon 9-4.

Senior Lee Kerns sparked the Raiders.

He was the winning pitcher and had three hits and two RBI's.

Logan Conley recorded three hits.

The Raiders are 10-7 overall and 7-4 in the CBC.

Indian Lake lost at Urbana 6-5 in nine innings.

The Lakers are 11-6 overall. 

Varsity softball finals:

Bellefontaine fell to host Springfield Shawnee 5-3.

Justine Peterson had a two-run triple and Tiffany LeVan added a double.

Kara Morrison and Kelanie Garman had two hits apiece.

The Chiefs are 12-7, 6-5.

You can hear Bellefontaine host Graham Thursday on 1390 WBLL.

Indian Lake edged host Urbana 3-2.

The Lakers scored a run in the top of the seventh inning to break a tie.

The Hillclimbers tied the game by scoring twice in the bottom of the sixth.

Ace Jill Wildermuth tossed a four-hitter and earned the win. She struck out eight.

Kerstin Harmon had a single, a double, and two RBI's to lead the offense.

Michelle Herren, Jessica Lininger, Chelsea Cramer, Becca Cooper, and Wildermuth added hits.

The Lakers are 16-3, 9-2.

Indian Lake travels to Kenton Ridge on Thursday.

Lehman outscored Riverside 8-6.

For the Pirates, Abby Heaberlin had an over-the-fence home run and two RBI's.

Brittany Shough had a double and scored three runs.

Riverside is 9-7 overall.

Benjamin Logan steamrolled Greenon 15-1.

Coach Smith's team travels to Dayton Stebbins on Thursday.

Freshman softball:

Benjamin Logan defeated the Coldwater JV team 19-0.

Haylee Goodrich recorded eleven strikeouts.

Dakota Plikerd, Chelsea Cox, and Alivia Prater each had two hits.

The Raiders are 6-6.

8th grade fastpitch:

Indian Lake lost to Miami East 9-5.

Spencer Minnich tossed a complete game for the Lakers.

Maci Jones was 2-3 with a triple and Taylor Drake had a triple.
