Campaign Chairperson Dean Horn leads the annual meeting. The United Way decided to gather for lunch rather than the usual evening meeting.
The United Way of Logan County hosted its 52nd Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet Wednesday afternoon.

About one hundred community leaders met at the Hilliker YMCA to reveal last fall's campaign numbers.

The '07 campaign raised $709,358. It's the tenth straight year that the campaign has exceeded $700,000. The goal was $800,000. (Video interviews included.)

Despite falling short, United Way leaders were very pleased.

The combined campaigns in Champaign and Hardin Counties still did not match Logan County's total.

Executive Director Ilene Heaton says the money raised last year is helping fund 25 social service agencies in Logan County.

Heaton says the United Way impacts nearly all of us in one way or another.

She praised Dean Horn for his work as campaign chairperson.

Watch her explain.

Horn stressed that the generosity showcased last fall is one of the reasons he is proud to call Logan County home.

Horn is the President of the Logan County Habitat for Humanity. He says the United Way has helped them time after time.

Watch his testimonial.

AcuSport Corporation captured the traveling trophy, which is awarded to the company with the highest per capita giving. AcuSport has won this award for several years in a row.

Jack Reser and Terri Schneider will be co-chairing the '08 campaign.

Tammy Gump was the president in '07.
