Ohio Hi-Point Career Center students recently participated in the Ohio SkillsUSA State contests at the State Fairgrounds in Columbus. Students competed in areas that included web design, television and video production, computer applications, health knowledge, and more.

Students that were honored at the contests included:

Colin Clute, a senior Engineering Technology student from West Liberty-Salem High School and Steffan Whetsel, a junior Engineering Technology student from Bellefontaine High School.  Clute and Whetsel won the Robotics and Automation contest.  For the second consecutive year, students from OHP's Engineering Technology program have won the state contest.  The win qualifies Clute and Whetsel for the national contest held in Kansas City, MO, this summer.

Lydia Bachochin, a senior Engineering Technology student from Benjamin Logan High School, Matthew Beach, a senior Electronics Engineering Technology student from Indian Lake High School, and Andrew Lemmon, a senior Electronics Engineering Technology student from Graham High School each won a silver medal in the Tech-Prep Showcase contest.  Their project demonstrated Voice-over Internet Protocol.
