Many of our local baseball and softball teams were in action last night.
In varsity softball, Indian Lake pasted Greenon 11-0 in five innings.
Ace Jill Wildermuth tossed a perfect game.
She led the offense with three hits.
Michelle Herren, Jessica Lininger, Chelsea Cramer, and Becca Cooper had two hits apiece. The Lakers are 18-3 overall and 11-2 in the CBC.
Other varsity finals:
Bellefontaine edged host Kenton Ridge 3-2.
Heather Alinson doubled in the winning run in the top of the sixth inning.
Kara Morrison earned the win. She had two hits and scored two runs.
Tiffany LeVan recorded two hits and two RBI's.
The Chiefs are 14-7 overall and 8-5 in league play.
Benjamin Logan beat Graham 7-5.
Riverside handled Ridgemont 12-2.
Ashley Jones had four hits.
Abby Heaberlin and Megan Hurley added two hits apiece.
Sara Emerich tossed a two-hitter and struck out ten.
The Pirates are 11-7.
JV softball:
Benjamin Logan lost to Graham 12-1, which snapped the Raiders 12-game winning streak.
Jewell Guthrie had two hits.
Benjamin Logan hurt themselves with six errors.
The Raiders are 13-2, 10-1.
Freshman softball:
Benjamin Logan breezed past Lima Sr. 19-7.
Pitcher Jessica Davia had nine strikeouts.
Dakota Plikerd, Allissa Allford, Cheyanne Kuhn, and Davia had two hits apiece.
The Raiders are 8-6.
8th grade fastpitch:
Indian Lake outscored Triad 12-7.
Taylor Drake had four hits and Spencer Minnich added two hits.
Maci Jones struck out six to earn the win.
7th grade fastpitch:
Indian Lake beat Marysville 9-7.
Clair Maier struck out twelve.
Andi Lee smacked a home run and a double.
Leslie Reichert recorded a double.
Varsity baseball:
Bellefontaine fell to host Kenton Ridge 9-7.
Jace Mills had a home run.
Brandon Winter, T.J. Garman, and Mark Duffy had two hits apiece.
The Chiefs are 10-7.
Benjamin Logan knocked off host Graham 9-1.
Junior ace Jeremiah Kerns struck out nine without yielding a walk.
Lee Kerns had four hits and three RBI's.
Logan Conley and Shane James each had three hits.
Jonathon Robson added two hits.
The Raiders are 12-7, 9-4.
The Falcons fall to 10-10.
Indian Lake edged Greenon 4-3.
Michael Morgan went the distance to earn the win. He struck out nine.
Matt Yanchik and Nick Bozman had two hits apiece.
The Lakers are 12-7.
JV baseball:
Indian Lake defeated Greenon 8-2.
Marquis Klausing picked up the win.
The Lakers are 11-6.
Bellefontaine lost to Kenton Ridge 8-1.
Derrick Schmidt suffered the loss.
He led the offense with two hits and a run scored.
West Liberty-Salem lost to Triad 2-1.
Brock Bahan went six innings and only allowed two hits.
Bahan led the attack with two hits.
Zach Woodruff added a double and Ryan Ropp and Brad Frantz each added a hit.
Collin Link drove in a run.
WLS is 5-4 overall and 5-2 in league play.
8th grade:
Indian Lake lost to Elida 7-2.
Jonathon Schulz went 3-3 and Zachary Johnson had a double. The Lakers are 9-4. |
