The Joint Recreational Board of Trustees met in regular session Tuesday night.

Larry Brandstetter from Brandstetter, Carroll, Zofcin, Inc. presented a revised draft of the family aquatic center that the board would like to put in the current Hoffman Pool location.

The board is still looking into funding for the project.

Kris Myers, Parks and Recreation Superintendent, says the 2008 spring sports season is off to great start. (Audio interview included.)

The city Junior Track Team is being coached by Dr. Janet and Brian Dunn. There are 80 kids participating in the track program this year.

Myers said they are busy getting the Hoffman Pool ready for the summer.

Listen to him talk about spring sports and the pool.

In other board news, Board Member and City Councilman Jerry Pitzer informed the board that there would be no environmental issues to tear the YMCA building. The space will possibly be used as a "greenspace."

Pitzer also reminded the board about the hearing for the closing of Court Street prior to the city council meeting next Tuesday. The hearing is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. Citizens can attend the hearing to voice their opinion on the closing.

The next park board meeting will be Tuesday, June 3rd.
