In JV baseball, West Liberty-Salem defeated host Cedarville 13-1 in five innings. Zach Woodruff fired a one-hitter and recorded 11 strikeouts. Offensively, Brad Frantz had four hits and three RBI's. Cody Allen recorded three hits and three RBI's. T.R. Nisonger and Logan Conklin each added two hits. The Tigers are 6-4 overall and 6-2 in the OHC. Farm League finals: Huntsville AcuSport beat Rushsylvania. For Huntsville, Zayne Hakes, Andrew Hulbert, and Tyler Reprogle each blasted a home run. Parker Grothaus had two triples and Mitch Schwieterman added a double and a triple. Alex Jacobs had four strikeouts on the mound. For Rushsylvania, Chase Prall had a triple. A.G. Boogher and Son East Liberty edged Ridgemont #1 8-6. East Liberty pitchers Tyler Berry, Josh Whitten, and Spencer Bycynski combined for nine strikeouts. Jared Sater and Austin Noel led the offense with two hits apiece. For Ridgemont, Darian Bricker and Trenton Myers each had a pair of hits. McDaniel's Auto Repair (West Liberty #1) beat Ridgemont #2 10-2. The game was called in the bottom of the fourth inning because of rain. Dominic Smith earned the win and Ben Hyland recorded the save. They combined for nine K's. Ian Meeker doubled and Cole McDaniel went 2-2. For Ridgemont, Alex Ramsey recorded nine strikeouts. Zavier McGue had a double and Cade McKinley and Ramsey had base hits. Belle Center #2 Advanced Technology Products cruised past West Mansfield 14-2 in five innings. Belle Center pitchers Isaac Bednarki and Curtis Hinkle combined for a one-hitter and struck out 14. Aaron Pennington had a double, a triple, and a home run. Andrew Bickham had three hits and three RBI's. Danny Elson, Jakoby Johnson, Caleb Shonk, Hunter Parmer, Bednarki, and Hinkle added hits. Wyatt Bishop had an RBI. For West Mansfield, pitchers Reggie Regula, Tyler Foreman, and Curtis Gadson combined for seven strikeouts. Anthony Street scored twice and Gadson had a single. |
