A Springfield woman has passed away after suffering serious injuries in a four-wheeler accident late Saturday afternoon between Zanesfield and Pickrelltown.

The Logan County Sheriff's Office reports that Samantha Williams, 34, crashed while riding an ATV in her parents' field at 4413 County Road 28.

It appears that Williams was ejected after the four-wheeler struck a shallow ditch.

Her parents found her lying unconscious in a field with the four-wheeler nearby.

Authorities report that Samantha suffered head injuries. She was transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus by Medflight.

Williams died at the hospital Sunday.

Bellefontaine and Tri-Valley paramedics assisted at the scene.
