Benjamin Logan sweeps WLS, a few youth teams in action Print E-mail

In varsity baseball, Benjamin Logan swept West Liberty-Salem.

The Raiders won the first game 7-3.

Cory Klinger was the winning pitcher.

Benjamin Logan won the nightcap 7-4.

Blake Rodenberger earned the win.

There were several offensive standouts for the Raiders.

Jeremiah Kerns and Trent Kuhn each blasted a home run.

Matt McKirahan, Texas McCoy, and Jonathon Robson had doubles.

Nate Stierhoff added two hits.

Benjamin Logan is 15-7 overall and 10-4 in the CBC. They have won eight in a row.

West Liberty-Salem is 19-5 overall.

In varsity softball, Bellefontaine split with Sidney.

The Chiefs lost the first game 1-0 in nine innings, but then won the second game 6-2.

Bellefontaine is 15-9 and Sidney is 18-6.

The Benjamin Logan freshman softball team finished their season by sweeping Coldwater.

The Raiders won the first game 7-6.

Dakota Plikerd had three hits.

Allissa Allford had two hits, including the game-winner.

Chelsea Raterman added a couple of hits.

Benjamin Logan won the second game 16-0.

Plikerd and Allford had three hits apiece.

Chelsea Cox recorded two hits.

The Raiders went 10-6 this season.

In 10 and under softball, Huntsville #2 Fred Thomas Excavating defeated Huntsville #1 11-1 in the first round of the Preseason Tournament in Lakeview.

Tori Lones struck out seven to earn the win.

Brooke Lewis, Lindsey Chismar, and Lones had hits.

In other 10 and under softball, DeGraff Creamery handled Lakeview #2 13-5.

For DeGraff, Hannah Kilgore tossed a complete game and recorded eleven strikeouts.

Kilgore starred on offense, too.

She went 3-3 with a home run and two RBI's.

Lauryn Davis belted a home run and Molly Worrell drove in a pair of runs.

In Little League, Zanesfield beat Bellefontaine Lions Club 8-3.

Pitchers Jordan Scales and Tristen Harshfield combined for 7 K's.

Patrick Jordan and and Scales led the attack with doubles.

For Lions Club, pitchers Colton Wreede, Jordan Baughman, and Collen Pulfer teamed up for six strikeouts.

Jacob Houchin and Aeryton Erwin had two hits apiece.

Pulfer added a double.

Huntsville #4 Sunderhaus Insurance outscored Huntsville #3 Logan County Co-op 17-10 in T-ball action.

Ethan Parker led Sunderhaus Insurance with a grand slam.

Austin Parker also hit a home run.

Kyle Levan hit a pair of doubles while Isaac Roby and Kylee Morrison also doubled.

For Logan County Co-op, Alyia McCoy had a triple and Tyler Roberts recorded a double.

Katie Burden turned in an outstanding defensive game.
