Belle Center Mayor addresses safety concerns of 4-wheelers PDF Print E-mail

The Village of Belle Center held their council meeting Tuesday evening.

West Liberty Police Chief Ron Murray was on hand to talk to council with his plans if elected sheriff. He discussed his plans for financing, staffing, and more. 

The council announced an upcoming recycling meeting.

Alan Hale from the Logan County Solid Waste Management District will meet with local residents Wednesday at 5:30 in the village building at 104 West Buckeye. (Audio interview included.)

In village reports, it was announced that the water tower inspection has been completed.  According to the engineer's report, the tower is in better shape than anticipated. Three coats of poxy are needed to cover up welded areas. A new valve will be installed on Wednesday.

Nelson Engineering completed the inspection at a cost of $1,800.

In other news, Mayor Teresa Johnston received approval from council to appoint Ed Patterson as Zoning Inspector effective immediately.

Mayor Johnston also addressed community concerns of four-wheelers.

The next Belle Center Village Council meeting will be Tuesday, June 10th at seven p.m.
