Gun and drugs found during local traffic stop PDF Print E-mail

ohio_state_patrol.gifTroopers from the Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol seized 119 grams of marijuana and a loaded 9mm handgun during a traffic stop on Route 33 in western Union County earlier this week.

Elizah Talbert, 23, of Columbus was charged with possession of marijuana and carrying a concealed weapon.

The gun charge is a fourth-degree felony.

The patrol stopped a 2000 Chevy Tahoe for a speed violation on Route 33 near the Honda Parkway exit Tuesday.

The trooper detected a strong odor of marijuana.

The marijuana and gun were found inside the vehicle.

Talbert was lodged in the Tri-County Jail in Mechanicsburg.

If convicted, he could face up to 18 months in jail and up to a $5,000 fine.
