baseballs.jpgIt's been a busy weekend for tournament baseball and softball.

Several of our local teams were in sectional title games Friday and Saturday.

On Friday, the West Liberty-Salem varsity baseball team edged top-seeded Tri-County North 3-2 in eight innings at Tipp City High School.

Senior standout Levi Woodruff went the distance for the Tigers. He allowed five hits and recorded three strikeouts.

Woodruff led the offense by going 3-4 with a double and an RBI.

The Panthers forced extra innings by scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.

The second-seeded Tigers then scored the game-winning run in the top of the eighth inning when Tyler Hayes drove in Tyler Siegenthaler.

WLS is 22-5 and will play in the district title game next Saturday morning at ten o'clock at Centerville High School.

Saturday finals:

Baseball:

Benjamin Logan upset #2 seed Tipp City 3-1 at Blue Jacket Park.

The Raiders will play in the district title contest next Saturday at Kettering Fairmont High School. First pitch is three o'clock.

Top-seeded Kenton Ridge edged rival Northwestern 3-2 to win their second straight sectional championship.

The Lakers finish the year 21-5.

Congrats to Coach Cramer and the girls on a great season.
