Track athletes from five local schools advance to state Print E-mail

Athletes from Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake, West Liberty-Salem, and Riverside have qualified for state.

Several Lady Chiefs did well at the Division II regional meet.

Here are the results: (Top 4 advance to state)

High Jump - Tomika Brown 5' 2" 3rd

100 Hurdles - Tomika Brown 1st (broke school record w/ a 14.93)

Long Jump - Kea Lewis 17' 6"  3rd (season best)

Pole Vault - Sara Bechtel 2nd (broke school record at 10' 0"); Kaileigh Bible was 5th 9' 3"

4x100 Relay - Danielle Hill, Alyssa Elliott, Kea Lewis, Tomika Brown  4th

Benjamin Logan (girls):

300 Hurdles - Keri Stafford 47.84  3rd (personal best time)

Benjamin Logan (boys):

4x200 Relay - Steven Campbell, George Daniel, Cody Titus, Corey Phalen 1:31.77 4th

400 - Ross Barnes 51.08  4th

Indian Lake (girls):

1600 - Rachel Watt 4th

Indian Lake (boys):

Long Jump - Stacy Jones 22'3"  2nd

400 - Stacy Jones

300 Hurdles - Alex Contner

West Liberty-Salem (boys):

4x400 Relay - Eric Salley, Brice Baumgardner, Joe Yoder, Lance Kitchen  4th (second straight year to qualify for state)

Discus - Nate Bratka  1st  He will throw starting at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Also, West Liberty-Salem is hosting a community pep rally for the softball team and boys track and field team Tuesday night at 7:30 at the firehouse in West Liberty. The community is asked to wear orange and black in support of their state-bound student athletes.

Riverside (girls):

Discus - Amelia Carter 122'  4th This is Carter's second straight trip to state.
