Acme season opens, AcuSport still unbeaten Print E-mail

Finals included:

ACME:

Bellefontaine Powerbuilt opened its season by blanking Urbana 10-0 in five innings at Blue Jacket Park.

Brock Mitchell picked up the win by scattering 5 hits.

Mitchell led the offense with a three-run homer.

Josh Kauffman added a two-run double and Zach Mosbarger was 2 for 3.

Jace Mills sealed the victory in the bottom of the fifth inning with a two-run single.

The Bellefontaine Jr. Acme team handled Triad 17-4.

Cody Scherer tossed a four-hitter to earn the win.

Offensively, Scherer drove in four runs.

Michael Stockton had two hits and Josh Jones and Garrett Pickering each doubled.

Bellefontaine will host Urbana at Blue Jacket Park Wednesday evening at 8:30 p.m.

PONY LEAGUE:

DeGraff #1 (Citizens Bank of DeGraff) swept a doubleheader from West Mansfield on Saturday 5-1 and 9-2.

Scott Shreve went the distance on the mound striking out 7 batters in game 1.

Kyle Hurley had 3 hits, Matt Faulder had 2 hits, and Shreve doubled.

In the 2nd game, Kyle Hurley struck out 16 of the 21 batters he faced.

Joseph Coulson had 3 hits. Faulder and Shreve each added two hits.

DeGraff #1 is now 8-1 on the season.

Quincy (Heath Farms and The Pines) beat Huntsville 16-3.

Quincy's Dustin Proffitt, Kolt Shough, and Andrew McConnell pitched a four-hitter.

Proffitt had a triple and a single.

McConnell had a double.

Shough, Ryan Davidson, Chris Cox, and Travis Wells singled.

Blaine Dixon had two doubles and a single.   

Dyllan Laber singled and doubled.

Corey Kreiger had a single and a triple. 

FARM LEAGUE: 

Huntsville (AcuSport) ran past Belle Center #1 15-1.

For AcuSport, Andrew Hulbert led the offense with a triple.

Kyle Shoffner had a double. Parker Grothaus added two RBI's.

On the mound, Dylan Albright, Alex Jacobs, Kyle Shoffner, Dalton Faler, and Caleb Smelcer combined to allow two hits and had 13 strikeouts.

For Belle Center, Grant Ricketts turned in a solid performance on the mound with seven strikeouts.

The win moves Huntsville to 9-0 on the season.

DeGraff #2 (Comer Insurance) improved to 9-0 with a 13-1 win over Ridgemont #1.

Ross Stevens and Conner Cotterman combined for a 3-hitter with 7 strikeouts.

Bill Walters had a double and a home run with 2 RBI's, Gauge Walters had 2 doubles and 3 RBI's, Matthew Burchett was 3-3 with 2 RBI's, Derek Kobyleck was 2-2 with a double, Nicholas Smith was 2-3 with a double, and Luke Lowery had a double and an RBI.

Conner Cotterman was 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI's and Ross Stevens had 2 hits and an RBI.

On defense, Ross Stevens and Lucas Roderick turned a double play.

For Ridgemont, Andrew Freshcorn, Trent Myers, and Dillon Bricker had hits.

Zanesfield I (Sports Plus) edged West Liberty #1 (McDaniel's Auto Repair) 7-5 in extra innings.

TJ Fink, Hayes Roebuck, Mitchell Fink, & Dylin Harshfield combined for 13 K's in the win.

Hayes Roebuck had a single, a double, & a triple.

TJ Fink was 3 for 3 with 2 doubles.

For West Liberty #1, Tanner Workman had a triple and Cole McDaniel was 4 for 4.

Belle Center #2 Advanced Technology Products defeated West Liberty #3 12-5.

For Belle Center, pitchers Isaac Bednarki, Curtis Hinkle, Jared Nicol, Wyatt Bishop, and Andrew Bickham combined for 14 strikeouts.

Andrew Bickham led the attack with a home run, a triple, and two RBI's.

Wyatt Bishop had three hits and two RBI's.

Hunter Parmer recorded two singles and an RBI.

Isaac Bednarki tripled and Aaron Pennington doubled.

For West Liberty #1, pitchers Dillon Callicoat, Cam Cozad, Logan Brown, and Isaac Kauffman combined for 11 strikeouts.

Brown was 3-3.

Neil Markin, Logan Woolley, and Isaac Kauffman each drove in a run.

Dairy Queen outscored Spectrum Paint 12-4.

Lane Wisner, Malakeh Hutchison, Dylan Legge, and Aaron Wisner combined for over 15 strikeouts.

Legge hit a home run.

Ryan Sebring and Clay Wisner tripled.

Aaron Wisner went 3 for 3.

DeGraff #1 (United Midwest Savings Bank) defeated Lakeview #2 8-5.

DeGraff pitchers Caleb Stevens, Trey Lane, and Tyler Sanford combined for 13 strikeouts.

JJ Frost had two hits.

Joel Wren tripled.

Gavin Stallard doubled.

Hunter Kreglow and Caleb Stevens each had a hit. 

Lakeview's Ethan Zorn hit a home run and Benji Dearwester tripled.

West Liberty #2 (Nelson Insurance) handled Zanesfield #2 19-3.

Jayden Aldo was the winning pitcher.

Dylan Leopard was four for four with two home runs.

Gage Rudasill and Maverick Aldo each doubled.

Dustin Randall had a triple.

Huntsville #3 ran past DeGraff #3 30-7.

Austin Eaton, Trenton Butterfield, and Collin Wagoner helped pitch Huntsville to the win.

Troy Carter had two home runs and four RBI's.

Michael Beale recorded three hits and drove in five runs.

Butterfield had a homer and five RBI's. 

Lakeview #1 beat Huntsville #1 14-8.

Jordan Gerrardo, C.J Moots, and Jared Lattimer combined for 10 strikeouts for Lakeview.

Drew Thomas and Mike Kimbler each had 2 hits for Huntsville.

EWH Spectrum defeated Royer Realty 12-3.

Sammy Martz and Aurelio Vickers combined for 18 strikeouts in the win.

Jacob Rogan went 2 for 2 with a home run, Sammy Martz went 3 for 3, Max Wilcoxin added a double with 3 RBI's, Aurelio Vickers went 2 for 3 with a double and a triple and Dawsin Tillman added 2 RBI's.

For Royer Realty, Payton Biddle and Hayden Nease had in-the-park home runs.

Zack Gilbert and Biddle recorded 9 strikeouts on the mound.

On Friday, EWH Spectrum defeated Real Living 5-3.

For EWH Spectrum, Aurelio Vickers had a home run and 3 RBI's.

Vickers, Sammy Martz, and Jacob Rogan combined for 17 strikeouts.

For Real Living, Cole Braun tripled and Chase Braun went the distance on the mound with 11 strikeouts.

SOFTBALL:

West Liberty #2 (Big Orange Shoe Shop) defeated Huntsville #1 12-11.

Autumn Klinger was the winning pitcher. She also had a two-run triple to drive in the winning run.

April Kelly and Kylee Hormann doubled. 

Lindsay Hostetler, Katie Lement, and Klinger singled. 

Huntsville #2 (S&S Fine Homes) edged Belle Center 12-11.

Kylie Jenkins, Macie Barnett, and Morgan Barnett had 2 hits apiece.

Kira Young, Ashleigh Wallace, and Annalyn Wilson added hits.

Ashton Faler pitched a complete game to get the win.

Butler's Spouting defeated Village Builders 5-3.

Addi Brown and Kinsey Harman pitched well.

Hannah Vance had a double.

Courtney Sayler and Amber Jones had good defensive efforts.

URBANA 15 & UNDER SOFTBALL:

Real Estate #2 beat Custom Sportswear 18-17.

Custom Sportswear's Kayley Moss led off the game with a long home run over the left field fence to start a five-run inning.

Real Estate #2 responded with five runs highlighted by Andrea Hendricks' RBI double off the left field fence.

Brittany Lewis hit a double off the left center field fence in the last inning to give Custom Sportswear a 17-13 lead in the last inning.

In the bottom of the inning, eleven-year-old leadoff hitter Michelle Hendricks smacked a home run over the left field fence.

The inning ended with Jamie Tullis sliding home after a wild pitch. 

Real Estate #2 is 2-1 on the season.  Custom Sportswear is 2-2 

14 and under:

Huntsville II Maier Concrete defeated West Mansfield 13-5.

Haley Dye went the distance on the mound to pick up the win.

Haley Codora and Claire Maier each drove in two runs.

Trista Helmlinger, Haley Bray, Kaylyn Wright, Kylee Smith, Haley Dye, Kirsten Merritt, and Danielle Laws drove in runs.

Wright also added a triple.

DeGraff (Comer Insurance) defeated East Liberty 20-2.

Paige Atterholt pitched a complete game and tallied 10 strikeouts. 

Erin Krisher and Atterholt had two hits apiece.

Brooke Richard & Sierra Schutte went 2-3.

Senior League:

Kut ‘N Loose triumphed over Dairy Queen 11-9.

McKenzie Brunswick hit a three-run double.

12 and under:

DeGraff #2 defeated Lakeview #2 14-0.

Madison Manahan and Cahlina Castellante both had home runs.

Chelsea Giles had a triple, a double and 4 RBI's.

Christyn Weithalter struck out six in the win.

JUNIOR LEAGUE:

McDonald's beat Masonic Temple 14-4.

Savannah Brison was the winning pitcher with ten K's.

Brison and Elizabeth Martin each tripled.

Taylor Price was two for two with two RBI's.

Macy Neff had 3 RBI's. 

Jenna VanHoose was three for three with one RBI.

10 & UNDER SOFTBALL:

Lakeview #2 (C&S Farm Market) beat DeGraff #2 (Ron's Pizza) 8-7.

Abbie Sienbeneck pitched the win.

Lindsey Huffman had the game-winning RBI.

DeGraff #1 (DeGraff Creamery) defeated Ridgemont 13-4.

DeGraff's Marissa Davis was two for three with a triple and three RBI's.

Molly Worrell was two for three with a double and three RBI's.

Over the weekend, DeGraff Creamery earned second place in the pre-season tournament in Lakeview.

They defeated Lakeview #2 13-5, Zanesfield 5-4, and Lakeview #1 13-5. DeGraff lost the championship game to Zanesfield 8-1 and 4-0.

Lauryn Davis and Helena Faulder tripled and doubled.

Kelby Strapp doubled.
