Pedestrian killed in Russells Point PDF Print E-mail

pedestrian_crossing.jpg.pngA pedestrian was killed on Route 33 in Russells Point late Saturday night.

Troopers from the Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol report that Gerald Sharp, 57, of Plain City was attempting to cross Route 33 near Lincoln Boulevard just before eleven o'clock when he was struck by a westbound Chevy Lumina driven by Eric Braun, 20, of Celina.

Sharp was pronounced dead at the scene.

His wife, son, and condo neighbors were walking right behind him, but they were not hit.

The patrol was assisted by the Russells Point Police Department, Washington Township Police Department, Logan County Sheriff's Office, Indian Lake State Park Police, Indian Joint Fire Department, and Indian Lake EMS.

Route 33 was closed for nearly two hours.

The accident remains under investigation.
