Donald Weber called in the fire after a smoke detector went off at his 216 East Glen Drive residence. Acting Assistant Chief Dave Crissman says it appears that the fire started when the heat from a gas grill ignited some papers in a nearby recycling bin. The family was test starting the grill for an upcoming garage sale. The fire damaged the garage and a 2007 Chrysler 300, which was parked inside. The house suffered smoke damage, too. Crissman says the fire did about $18,000 worth of damage. Fire crews were on scene until eleven p.m. No one was injured. |
