Finals included: The Bellefontaine Powerbuilt Acme team swept a doubleheader at Greenville. Powerbuilt won the first game 25-0 in five innings. Brock Mitchell fired a two-hitter and struck out nine. Jace Mills went five for five to lead the offense. Mark Duffy had four hits. Josh Scherer and Mitchell each recorded three hits. Brandt Fields and Colt Scherer had two hits apiece. Adam Skelly belted a home run. Bellefontaine won the second game 7-6. Nolan Hunt earned the win. Josh Kauffman had two hits. Adam Skelly homered. Brock Mitchell tripled. T.J. Garman and Mark Duffy doubled. Powerbuilt is 9-0. Wayce Varian hit three doubles and Cody Scherer struck out nine batters to lead the Bellefontaine Junior Acme team to a 6-3 victory over visiting Triad at Blue Jacket Park. Triad took the lead in the top of the fourth inning only to see Bellefontaine bounce back and tie the score in the bottom of the inning. The Chiefs then took the lead for good in the fifth when Varian's third double of the game drove in a pair of runs. Bellefontaine had six hits overall, including two by Nate Brisson. Daulton Mosbarger had the Chiefs other hit. On the mound, Scherer went the distance to earn his second win of the summer season. Bellefontaine Junior Acme will be in action again at 6 p.m. Friday when it hosts Lima Shawnee at Blue Jacket Park. Dayton Carroll is coming to town for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Sunday. FARM LEAGUE: National Salt Distributors swept a doubleheader vs. Spectrum Paint. In the first game, National Salt won 20-4. Nathan Langenfeld struck out nine in the win. Bo Ludwig, Lane Williams, and Langenfeld had two hits apiece. Christian Kelly belted a triple. National Salt won the second game 20-0. Bo Ludwig was the winning pitcher. He recorded eight strikeouts. Jarett Beck had a double, a home run, and four RBI's. Turner Scott had three hits and three RBI's. Nathan Langenfeld recorded three hits and Dylan Christman added two hits. For Spectrum Painting, Javon Walker had two hits. Huntsville (AcuSport) ran past Ridgemont #1 13-1. For Huntsville, Dylan Albright, Alex Jacobs, Zayne Hakes, Parker Grothaus, Andrew Hulbert, Caleb Smelcer, and Dalton Faler had extra base hits. On the mound, Jacobs got the win with four strikeouts. Kyle Shoffner added four K's. Huntsville is 11-0. West Liberty #1 (McDaniel's Auto Repair) defeated Washington #2 7-3. Cole McDaniel earned the win and Dusty Moell closed for the save. They combined for eleven strikeouts. Ben Hyland had three hits. Hunter Stewart added two hits, including a double. Brandon Upton tripled and Dominic Smith doubled. For Washington, Matt LaDow and Trey Long each had two hits. Cody King doubled. Zanesfield #1 (Sports Plus) outscored Belle Center #2 16-14. Jared Abbott powered Zanesfield with a home run. Mitchell Fink had three hits. Travis Bryant and Clay Bibart added doubles. For Belle Center, Taylor Coy had three hits. West Liberty #3 (Michael's Pizza) scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to edge Quincy 14-13. Michael Frederick earned the win. Brandon Orahood and Adam Shultz each scored two runs. For Quincy, Brad Howell belted a triple. DeGraff #1 (United Midwest Savings Bank) blanked Zanesfield #2 (Thomas & Marker) 12-0. Caleb Stevens pitched a no-hitter and struck out seven batters. Hunter Kreglow, Tyler Sanford, Xane Fugate, J.J. Frost and Caleb Stevens each smacked hits for DeGraff #1. EWH Spectrum beat Real Living 12-0 in five innings. Blaze Warren, Jacob Rogan, and Aurelio Vickers combined on the mound with 10 strikeouts. Dewaine Davis went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI's. Vickers hit a home run and had two RBI's. Lakeview #2 (Stanley Asphalt Seal Coating) defeated Washington #1 19-7. Ethan Zorn almost hit for the cycle, going 3-for-3 with a home run, a triple, a double, and five RBI's. Jacob Brunson went 2-for-2 with a double. Benji Dearwester and Lucas Shaffer also added triples. Jeromy Ridenbaugh, Lucas Shaffer, and Dylan Beltz combined for eight strikeouts. For Washington, Aric Faulder, J.J. Seibert, and Daniel Hinkle had two hits apiece. Seibert, Joey Davidson, and Brandon Henderson combined for 11 strikeouts on the mound. DeGraff #2 (Comer Insurance) edged Hunstville #1 13-12 to improve its record to 10-1 on the season. Conner Cotterman, Ross Stevens, and Bill Walters combined for 11 strikeouts on the mound. Conner Cotterman and Cody Dearwester each had two hits. Ross Stevens had a double and an RBI. Gauge Walters had an RBI and Matthew Burchett had two RBI's. Blaine Walters scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth on a passed ball. For Huntsville, Drew Thomas was 3-for-3. Conner Dixon had a hit and an RBI. Mike Kimbler had a hit and two RBI's. Andrew Crockett had a double and an RBI. Belle Center #2 (Advanced Technology Products) beat Ridgemont #2 17-9. Belle Center was down 9-0 and scored 17 unanswered runs. Hunter Parmer, Isaac Bednarki, Curtis Hinkle, and Wyatt Bishop combined for 10 strikeouts. At the plate, Hinkle had three doubles. Bednarki smacked a three-bagger. Bishop had a single, a double, and three RBI's. Andrew Bickham and Caleb Shonk each hit doubles. For Ridgemont #2, Alex Ramsey, Jace McGue, Zach Gibson, and Austin Buroker combined for 12 strikeouts. Gibson, Ramsey, and Buroker each had a double for RBI's. Cade McKinley added a single. Coach Matt Pennington sends out a thank you to Scott Parmer, Mike Elson, Scott Johnson, Tim Hawes, Rick Bednarki, and stat keeper Nancy Pennington for their hard work this season. East Liberty (A.G. Boogher and Son) held off Huntsville #3 8-7. Austin Noel and Gavin Erwin both hit doubles. Noel scored two runs. Kris Ackley and Spencer Bycynski had two RBI's apiece. Noel, Ackley and Bycynski combined for 11 strikeouts. West Liberty #2 (Nelson Insurance) beat Zanesfield #3 9-3. Hayden Aldo was the winning pitcher. Zach Lowe and Dylan Leopard shined in relief. Gage Rudasill went 3-for-3. Maverick Aldo was 2-for-3 with a double. For Zanesfield #3, Brandon Cole led the offense with a home run and a double. GIRLS 14U SOFTBALL Jascey Vermillion pitched a no-hitter to lead All-Around Awards to an 11-0 shutout over Zanesfield. Vermillion added a pair of singles at the plate. Jessica Smith smacked a pair of doubles and drove in one run. Maryann Crowley hit an RBI double. Tia Hassell, Ciara Harden, and Morgan Henry each had singles. All-Around Awards takes on Quincy Thursday night in a makeup game. Huntsville #2 (Maier Concrete) beat East Liberty 9-4. Haley Dye and Claire Maier combined for seven strikeouts on the mound. Maier, Haley Bray, and Kaylyn Wright each went 3-for-3 with two RBI's. Hannah Dye and Amber May also collected hits for Maier Concrete. 12U SOFTBALL Huntsville #2 (S&S Fine Homes) pounded Lakeview #2 21-5. Ashley Wallace and Gabby Maier each had three hits. Analynn Wilson and Carley Losh each added two hits. Kylee Jenkins had a hit. West Liberty #2 (Big Orange Shoe Shop) rolled past Lakeview #1 15-2. Autumn Klinger was the winning pitcher. April Kelly had two hits. Katie Lement, Lindsey Hostetler, Kylee Gilroy, and Klinger added hits. Madison Boyer had an RBI. 10U FASTPITCH Lakeview #2 (C&S Farm Market) routed Huntsville #2 16-4. Abbi Siebeneck was the winning pitcher. The game's MVP was Meghan Johnston. Lakeview #1 (Indian Lake Moose Lodge) squeaked out a win against West Liberty #2. For Lakeview, Ashley Holycross was 2-for-3.
Mollie Grubbs had a home run and Lindsey Young had the game-winning single in DeGraff #1 (DeGraff Creamery) lost to Zanesfield #1 (Donatos Pizza) 5-4. For DeGraff, Hannah Kilgore pitched a complete game and had eleven strikeouts. At the plate, Kilgore was three for three with two doubles and an RBI. Helena Faulder had two doubles and two RBI's. Alexa Klinger added an RBI. Molly Worrell and Kelby Strapp played outstanding defense. |
