He grabbed his two younger sisters and took them out of the house before yelling for his mother, Kaci Harris, and grandparents, Stephen and Cindy Harris, who were working outside in the barn. The adults rushed to the house and put Dravin and his sisters, five-year-old Kamry and two-year-old Hope, in the family's truck for safety. (Audio interview included.) Dravin's grandmother Cindy Harris called 911. Bellefontaine Fire and EMS responded to the house southwest of Bellefontaine on Twp. Rd. 206 between SR 47 and CR 11 just after 3 p.m. The electrical fire that had caused the smoke Dravin saw burned a two-foot diameter hole in an outside wall of the master bedroom. Cindy Harris thinks it was caused by a lightning strike. Severe thunderstorms rolled through Logan County Friday afternoon. Listen to comments from Harris. Bellefontaine Acting Assistant Fire Chief Jim Collins called Dravin a "hero". Collins said Harris learned about fire safety during a recent field trip to the Bellefontaine fire department. The fire did about $5,000 worth of damage, but firefighters said it could have been much worse. The fire is still under investigation.
