There was a serious injury accident in Lakeview Friday night.

The Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol responded to a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Route 33 and State Route 235 shortly after six o'clock.

Troopers report that a '96 Chevy pickup driven by Dennis Oakley, 45, of Lakeview was struck by an '08 Volvo semi operated by Merri Wakeland, 51, of St. Marys.

Oakley was southbound on 235 and Wakeland was eastbound on 33.

Accident reports indicate that Oakley ran a red light.

The collision forced Oakley into a northbound '01 Lincoln Town Car driven by Lori Jordan of New Paris.

His pickup finally came to rest after striking a nearby house owned by Bonnie Schaefer.

Oakley and Wakeland suffered serious injuries.

He was transported to Lima Memorial Hospital by Indian Lake EMS.

Wakeland was taken to St. Rita's Medical in Lima by Indian Lake EMS.

Jordan was not injured.

No one at the Schaefer residence was hurt.

The accident is still under investigation.
