West Liberty-Salem honors spring athletes Print E-mail

tiger_logo_on_10-07.jpgWest Liberty recently honored athletes at their Spring Sports Awards banquet.

The Tiger award was given to Joe Yoder, and Eric Salley was awarded a plaque for lettering in 15 Varsity sports during his four years at WL-S high school.

Softball:

Abby Ledford was named MVP and won the batting title award, Ellie Mescher was named scholar-athlete, Emily Kauffman was the defensive MVP, the Varsity hustle award went to Devon Woodruff, and Crissy Samples won the JV hustle award.

Awarded four-year participation plaques were Shae Blake, Kauffman, Mescher, and Woodruff.

Baseball:

Tyler Siegenthaler was the scholar-athlete, Levi Woodruff the best pitcher, best batting average went to Blake Wirick, the defensive MVP was Tyler Cordell, Greyson Miller picked up the Varsity hustle award, the JV hustle award went to Colin Link, and Ben Coleman won the freshman hustle award.

Levi Woodruff, Wirick, Miller, Curt Levy, and Siegenthaler were awarded four-year participation plaques.

Track - girls:

The scholar-athlete was Christine Naderer, MVP went to Heather Bumbolaugh, MVP - field events was Hannah Ropp, Hustle awards were given to Hillary Seeley and Michelle Mack, and Most Improved was Kelise Markin.

Track - boys:

Named scholar-athlete was John Krabill, most improved Brice Baumgardner, the Hustle award went to Austin Wilson, Nathan Bratka was named Field MVP, and the Running MVP was Lance Kitchen.

Ethan Oakley, Eric Salley, and Joe Yoder all received four-year participation awards.
