A foursome of local golfers fired a 12-under-par round of 58 Saturday at Liberty Hills Golf Club to win the Logan County Ohio State University Alumni Scholarship Golf Outing.

The team was comprised of Dennis and Dean Sanford, Bill Halter and Jerry Haas.

Fifty-two golfers played in the annual event, which was sponsored this year by the Hilliker Company.

OSU Alumni President Don Antram said he would like to thank all of those who participated, sponsored and organized the event.

"I would like to encourage golfers from around the area to get in on the fun at next year's golf outing," he added.

Prizes were also given away for longest drive, longest putt and closest to the pin.

Phillis Law and Pam Neal won longest drives in the women's subdivision.

Dennis Sanford and Dennis McIntosh won longest drives in the men's subdivision.

Pat Culp won longest putt.

Doug Smith and Andy Smith won closest to the pin.
