Farm League and Little League Champs Crowned Print E-mail

As featured on 1390 WBLL, Huntsville #2 (AcuSport) captured the Farm League Championship with an 11-4 victory over West Liberty #1 (McDaniel's Auto Repair) Saturday afternoon at Lakeview Elementary.

Dylan Albright got the start on the mound and picked up the win. Alex Jacobs came in and pitched three strong innings for the save, striking out seven. Andrew Hulbert also had a good game in contributing to the victory.

For West Liberty, Brandon Upton had a hit and an RBI and Dominic Smith performed well at third base and in pitching relief.

Washington SS Powerwash won the Little League title in Rushsylvania.

DeGraff came out of the loser's bracket and edged Powerwash 5-4 in the first championship game.

Powerwash rebounded and beat DeGraff 9-5 to claim the title.

Powerwash went 17-3 this summer.

Players include: Quenten Staley, Dustin Roby, Tyler Rode, Luke Rode, Dakota Long, Ivan Reichert, Brad Francis, Kurt Crockett, Reyse Wallbrown, L.J. Henderson, Kyle Roby, and Ethan Downing.

The Washington #2 T-Ball team completed a perfect season this weekend, winning the county tournament.

Congratulations to the players, including: Lucas Schwieterman, Josh Staley, Derek McKennon, Anna Harford, Kaden Harford, Ashlyn Shaner, Rachel Davis, Kassidy Crockett, Bethany Golliday, Nathan Reichert, and Kale Long.

Washington #2 defeated Zanesfield #1 Saturday morning to claim the Logan County B-ball title.

Ridgemont #4 and Lakeview #3 finished tied for 3rd place.

West Liberty #1 knocked off Washington to win the Logan County A-ball title.

Zanesfield #1 came in third. 

Lakeview hosted the two Farm League All-Star games on Sunday.

In the first game Zanesfield, Belle Center, East Liberty, & West Mansfield All-Stars beat DeGraff, Lakeview, & Quincy All-Stars 5-2.

Mitchell Fink (Zanesfield) led his team with two home runs.

Brandon Cole (Zanesfield) added two hits. T.J. Fink (Zanesfield) had a triple & 2 RBI & Taylor Coy (Belle Center) doubled. Grant Ricketts (Belle Center) added a hit.

Jordan Gerardo (Lakeview) led his team with two hits. Bill Walters, Conner Cotterman, and Ross Stevens from DeGraff each had a hit. Ethan Zorn & Benji Dearwester from Lakeview also had one hit apiece.

In the second game Huntsville & Washington Township All-Stars defeated West Liberty, Ridgemont, & Rushsylvania All-Stars 21-9.

Dylan Albright (Huntsville) & Austin Eaton (Huntsville) led their team with 3 hits each.

Alex Jacobs (Huntsville) also had 3 hits (single, double, triple) with 3 RBI.

Cameron Francis had a home run & a double with 3 RBI.

Nate Kaffenbarger (Washington) also had a double & a triple with 3 RBI.

Mike Kimbler (Huntsville) had two hits.

J.J. Seibert (Washington) added a home run.

Brandon Upton & Cole McDaniel (West Liberty) led their team with two hits each.

Maverick Aldo (West Liberty) had a grand slam.

Cam Cozad (West Liberty), Reese Wilcoxon (Rushsylvania), Neil Markin (West Liberty), and Alex Ramsey (Ridgemont) all added a hit.

SOFTBALL

10U

In tournament play, DeGraff #1 (DeGraff Creamery) lost to Ridgemont 7-6 in extra innings.

For DeGraff, Lauryn Davis doubled and drove in a run.

Hannah Kilgore was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Molly Worrell added two hits.

DeGraff Creamery went 14-6 this summer.

Acme

Bellefontaine Powerbuilt outscored Celina 8-5 Saturday at Blue Jacket Park.

T.J. Garman went 6 1/3 innings to earn the win. He struck out four.

Jordan Vermillion recorded the final two outs to earn the save.

At the plate, Garman belted a home run and a double.

Josh Kauffman added a double.

The round robin tournament was cut short because of the rain.

Powerbuilt is 20-5 overall.

Bellefontaine is scheduled to host Triad tonight (weather-permitting) at six o'clock.
