West Liberty team captures Coach Pitch title Print E-mail

Finals included: 

Coach Pitch:

West Liberty #1 sponsored by Thoman's IGA won the 2008 Logan County Coach Pitch Tournament on Sunday in Quincy.

The team finished the season 13-1.

A-Ball:

The Washington Hound Dogs placed second in the county A-Ball tournament.

Cole Jones, Logan Holycross, Garrett Gross, and Luke Roby contributed strong defensive play.

Chris Fulmer, Cameron Chamberlin, Luke Roby, Riley Ricketts, Garrett Gross, Cole Jones, Logan Holycross, Kyler Liles, Kai Burnett, Owen Mosbarger, and Dakota McKinnon play for the Hound Dogs.

Matt Roby, Ryan Holycross, Matt Gross, and John Jones coach the team.

The Hound Dogs went 6-0 in the regular season.

SOFTBALL

14U

Huntsville II (Maier Concrete) finished second in the Logan County 14 and under postseason tournament.

Maier Concrete defeated Zanesfield 13-5 in the opening round and then beat Huntsville I 13-5 in the second round.

Maier Concrete fell to DeGraff (Comer Insurance) 6-0 in the winner's bracket final.

Huntsville II then bounced back and knocked off West Mansfield 6-4.

Maier Concrete fell to DeGraff (Comer Insurance) in the championship game 4-3.

Huntsville II also finished second to DeGraff in the preseason tournament.

Members of the Huntsville II Maier Concrete team include: Claire Maier, Kaylyn Wright, Haley Bray, Haley Codora, Haley Dye, Hannah Dye, Amber May, Amber Hites, Trista Helmlinger, Kylee Smith, Danielle Laws, and Kirsten Merritt.

The team is coached by Duane Dye, Dave Maier, and Gabe Wickline.
