The Logan County Health District
The Logan County Health District met in regular session Wednesday afternoon.

Bellefontaine Mayor Adam Brannon spoke at the public forum on behalf of the Friends of the Health District regarding a recommendation that the board approve a 1-mill 10-year replacement levy. (Audio interview included.)

Brannon is the Chairman of the Friends of the Health District Committee, an organization working toward placing this effort on the next ballot and, of course, passing the levy as well.

Listen to Brannon discuss the levy.

The levy is a property tax that would excise $37.85 in tax on a home that is worth $100,000. Brannon commented that this tax is, "cheaper than gas."

Brannon also said that if the levy should fail this November,  $199,000 that is normally placed in the city's general fund would be withheld by the county and used in health district matters.

Stokes Township would feel a similar sting if the levy did not pass losing $129,000 toward their general fund.

In other health district news, the board moved to pass a resolution for established manufactured homes inspection.

For a fee currently set at $500, the inspection will include a plan review, one footing inspection, one final inspection and the State of Ohio Inspection Seal.

You can contact the Health District if you have any questions at 592-9040.
